adherent cell

Adherent cells are cells that grow while adhering to the culture vessel. Cultured cells that grow in a suspended state in the medium are called suspended cells.
Cultured cells are generally cultured in the manner that reflects the conditions under which they existed in the living organism. Cells that are present in the blood of an organism and flow through blood vessels are cultured as suspension cells, and cells that adhere to tissues are cultured as adherent cells. The medium exchange of adherent cells is performed by aspirating the medium and adding new medium. After the cells have proliferated to some extent in the culture vessel, the cells are detached from the cell vessel surface using a dissociation solution, collected, and then re-seeded with an appropriate cell density.
